EXPLORE ALL THAT NORTH CORNWALL HAS TO OFFER

There is so much to see and do in North Cornwall, whatever the weather!

Padstow

Padstow is a 10 min drive from Spray cottage. The famous fishing town is known as the foodie capital of Cornwall and is home to many cafes, bars, pubs and restaurants where you can dine out on fresh seafood and local produce, there is something for everyone! There are great independent shops and plenty of opportunities to buy traditional Cornish gifts and food.

There are lots of things to see and do in Padstow, including the famous camel trail cycle route to Wadebridge and on to Bodmin. Take a boat trip out of the Camel Estuary and beyond to see dolphins and basking sharks if you are lucky, or go on a Mackerel fishing trip to catch your supper for the BBQ that evening!
Sample some of the locally made pasties and sit at the harbour and take in the atmosphere.

The Camel Estuary ferry takes you across to Rock where more lovely restaurants, shops and beach walks await. The scenic coastal walk along to Daymer Bay and back via a visit to St. Enodoc Church is a must. We particularly enjoy lunch and a Sharps Brewery thirst quencher at The Mariner's, a Paul Ainsworth owned pub:

St Merryn

A 5 min drive from Spray Cottage, St Merryn is a small village on the road to Padstow. Fryer Tucks Fish and chips can be found here and it’s the best fish and chips around. The Farmers Arm's pub is a very popular destination if you wish to sample some good local beer and food. The Cornish Arms is situated just out of St Merryn and is very popular on a hot summer’s day. There is a garage and convenience store in St Merryn with most basics that you would need plus a good surf shop for the wetsuit that you thought you didn’t need!
